The NYSC is a hang-gliding and paragliding club based in the North East of the UK. We hold a number of excellent flying sites which are enjoyed by our members.

The club's aim is to promote hang-gliding and paragliding within the area in the best interests of it's members, and to protect it's assets whilst creating a social and fun environment for pilots of all levels. From a CP fresh from school, to the local skygod, everyone is welcome to join this BHPA registered club and enjoy what we have to offer. All club affairs are managed by the committee which at the moment consists of:

Club Meetings:
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at the Lord Stone's Cafe near Carlton-in-Cleveland (click here for a map). If the meeting falls on a bank holiday, the meeting is delayed to the following Monday. The meetings start at 8pm. All pilots and friends are more than welcome to attend. The Club’s Annual General Meeting usually takes place at the end of November.
Check the news page for details of up-coming meetings.

Airtime:
The Club’s newsletter Airtime produced every couple of months contains Club news and articles written by NYSC pilots. A copy can be obtained from the Newsletter Editor as an e-shot (pdf version), or a printed version on request.
Email the editor if you wish to receive the newsletter.

Events:
We hope to organise club nights (usually held at the Spa Hotel) and events for new pilots and Club members. In the past these have included guest speakers, reserve parachute re-packs, B-B-Q’s, first aid courses as well as exam preparation and other events. Details will be notified via the Club magazine, Airtime and on the website.
Check the events page for more details.

Competitions:
The North Yorks Sailwing Club is keen to promote competitions as a way of developing pilot’s abilities as well as having a good time. Currently there are two NYSC competitions which run until the Club’s AGM. These are the Viewtech League, open to all NYSC members who fly from NYSC site. The rules are the same as the National XC League with out-and-returns and triangles allowed. Minimum Distance is now 5km. Your best 6 flights at the end of the year count. The Lords Stones Trophy, is for the longest flight from Model Ridge. Both have separate awards for hang glider and paraglider pilots.
